How to measure windows for a clearer cleaning quote

Room count alone is not a useful measure for window cleaning. Glazed area and access provide a clearer picture. One large fixed pane can need a different arrangement from several opening windows, even when the total area is equal.
Measure the glass on one side
Multiply each pane’s width by its height in metres, then add the results. Four panes measuring 1 × 1.5 m each give 6 m². Enter 6 in the calculator, then select one-sided or two-sided cleaning. Do not double the measured area again for both sides.
Describe access before comparing prices
Explain which windows open, whether there is balcony glazing and which parts cannot be reached safely. Do not lean out or take risks to measure or photograph glass. Height, fixed panes and difficult access need advance discussion; rope access and lifting equipment are not part of the standard service.
Mention construction residue and coatings
Accessible frames and sills are within the stated scope. Stickers, paint marks and unknown coatings need separate discussion. Send an overview and a close-up of any problem area. Exterior work also depends on conditions on the visit day.
